Our Founder

The Reverend Victoria Lawrence is an ordained minister currently serving at Chatham Evangelical Church. She is the Founder and Visionary of Abigail Outreach Ministry; Abigail vision is based on the story of Abigail in 1 Samuel 25. She was called out and sent to the nation to help God’s children retain ‘their Godly countenance’ and where this has been lost to help them ‘regain’ it.
Having experiential knowledge of the challenges associated with raising a child with special needs and the societal stigmas attached to it, she inspired to be an advocate for special needs children and their families.
She received training from Robert Napier University, Glasgow on working with Autism, and she is equipped to support families – especially households of faith battling with Faith, Healing and Reality challenges.
Victoria has extensive experience of shaping local authority housing strategies and assisting charities or not-for-profit organisations in building their capacity, and she runs regular seminars in churches for church leaders and workers on making every church a welcoming environment for people with disabilities. She arranges Carers retreat, Siblings workshop and da trips.
She had a thriving career before going into full time consultancy in community transformation, church engagement and advocacy. She holds a Masters degree in Housing Law and Urban Regeneration, a BSc in Business Information Systems, a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, and is currently studying for a Doctorate in Divinity/Ministry.
She is an acknowledged author, TV/radio personality, and recently took part in judging panel of a major landmark project – The Wall of Answered Prayer. She also currently sits as an advisor for Housing Justice on homelessness, a Director at Gnosis Consultancy Solutions and is the South East Advisor for Cinnamon Network. She has more than 20 years’ experience of local church leadership, church planting and community engagement through social action.
She has been married for 23 years and blessed with three children. Her philosophy is “everyone has something to give to this world”.

Trustee & HR Advisor

BIOGRAPHY
Gwendolyne (Gwen) Denny is a vibrant multi-faceted woman of God. She carries the rather pleasant responsibly of a dynamic testimony of God’s awesome saving power, grace, mercy, and pleasure in taking smashed to pieces lives and just tenderly putting them back together again, His way. God is so good, isn’t He? She is our Policy adviser and ensures all our HR and Organisation policies and procedures are in place.
Magisterially, Gwen serves as a Reverend Minister with the New Testament Assembly Church (NTA), Tooting, London. She zealously advocates the necessity that all must understand and fulfill their life’s purpose irrespective of their circumstances; and believes personal experiences are powerful weapons used by God to draw souls out of darkness into His marvelous light.
One of her many passions is educating believers and unbelievers, who are seeking to break free from abusive lifestyles and remain free through Jesus Christ. Gwen comes with such a great message of healing and hope for today, and demonstrates with confidence the fact that it’s not how you start the race that matters; it’s how you finish that really counts.
Gwen is also passionate about those considered the least, the last and the lost. Moved by this, in 2003 she launched and manages a sponsorship programme to give individuals an opportunity to sponsor an underprivileged child through their primary and secondary school education in Kumasi, Ghana. The programme has attracted wider international interest. She is currently planning to implement a similar model of outreach support for underprivileged children in Brazil.
Gwen is a trustee on NTA’s National Board of Trustees and a consultant on people management and policy development matters. She leads the sub-group responsible for the development of policies and procedures for NTA nationally and also provides the same service for several community-based charitable bodies. Gwen also serves as a Board Director with the Free Churches Group, UK.
In the secular arena, Gwen is qualified human resources professional specializing in Human Resource (HR) Management, with significant experience predominantly developed within a diverse range of sectors. Her vision is to become established as the first point of contact on HR matters for churches and charities in London and the South West; with the strategic focus of persuading them that they need to take HR seriously, so as not to suffer the damaging consequences of being in violation of statutory employment law practices.
